DTN COMMENTS:   Formula totals for last week were mixed, higher in Texas and 
Nebraska, but lower in Kansas: KS 65,320(-5,095), NE 47,978(+1,142), TX 
59,441 (+2,611). Total trade volume was higher in Texas, about steady in 
Nebraska, but lower in Kansas:  KS 73,215(-3,110), NE 67,764(+35), TX 
61,920(+2,508). Bids and asking prices have yet to be established, and 
significant trade volume will likely be delayed until much later in the week.

Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 395.66 +2.69, Select 390.77 +0.90), 
with very light box movement (14.47 lds of choice cuts, 3.55 lds of select 
cuts, 5.90 lds of trim, and 3.57 lds of ground). Near the top of the noon 
hour, live cattle futures are moderately to sharply higher, while feeder 
issues are sharply higher.
